Annotated Bibliography

Clyds, John (2009). Streaming Movies on the Internet. Accessed February 9, 2010 from http://www.sooperarticles.com/technology-articles/gadgets-gizmos-articles/streaming-movies-internet-19875.html

This article explains in great detail the process of streaming movies on the internet. Many people do not understand how websites can legally have people view full movies on the internet. Streaming is a method that allows people to view the movie without allowing them to download the movie to their computer. This makes it legal.

Streaming is very useful today and is used all over the internet. This technique allows us to watch almost everything for free on the internet that has been aired on TV. Now a days, with the dependence of the internet by so many people, this is a great thing to have.
This is a great source to use for my topic because it explains how we are able to watch TV and movies for free. I wanted to really focus on the legality of it versus the illegal ways people go about watching and downloading shows and movies onto their computers.

Fuller, John (1998-2010). How Stuff Works: "How Internet TV Works. Accessed February 9 2010 from http://www.diigo.com/bookmark/http%3A%2F%2Felectronics.howstuffworks.com%2Finternet-tv.htm?tab=people&uname=catwhiteford

This article explains in categories how the internet allows you to watch TV. It explains how you can watch it live, watch old recorded shows, and how internet TV has changed over the years. It explains the technology used in order for this type of system to work and almost everything else you need to know about internet TV.
This is great for my project because it gives background information on streaming.

Fancast: Watch Full TV Shows and Movies: Free Online Streaming (2010). Accessed February 2, 2010 from www.fancast.net

This is a website that doesn't explain video streaming but actually does it. Fancast is a popular website used by millions to access free TV shows and movies.

This site is a great example of what my project is based on. Sites like Fancast allow us to watch TV shows absolutely free. Without the process of streaming legally, we wouldn't be able to access these free shows. As I talk about the process of streaming, Fancast safely and quickly lets viewers watch their shows.

  1. You bibliographies all have great summaries and a good start of an evaluation of the resource. Just make sure you separate them into paragraphs. While these are good, all three need a statement of use indicating how these sources are specific for your project.

  2. Catherine, your explanation of each site is good. You have chosen sites that definitely seem as though they will help you form your report. My only suggestion is to expand on how they will help you in detail. I think that your topic is really interesting and actually, I had never thought of the legality aspects of streaming videos... yet I watch them all the time. Good job!

  3. The descriptions of the sources are great. I would look at how much you italicize the actual citation though. I think only the title of the source is supposed to be in italics
